Features

Everything you need to program, deliver and review.

Build on a calendar, write every set your way, then deliver it to each athlete’s phone with their own weights. Here is every feature in Coach Reps, and how each one works.

No sign-up. Sample athletes are already loaded.

We set it up with you.

Build it on a calendar

Each day of the month holds blocks, like Prep, Drills and Lifting, and each block holds its exercises. Four tools do most of the work.

  • Drag blocks to any day

Pick up a block and drop it on another day. Or draw a box around a stretch of days, then drag it, and every block inside moves together.

    • Box-select a stretch with one drag
    • Add a block from the day’s plus button
    • Undo and redo, with the keyboard too
The program calendar: a Drills block is dragged from day 3 to day 6. Then a box is drawn around three blocks, and they move down a week together.
  • Copy and paste whole weeks

Copy one block or a whole stretch, and paste it on any day, as often as you like. Each block keeps its spacing from the first, with every exercise, set and load inside.

    • Copy from a block’s menu and paste from a day’s, or select blocks and use ⌘C and ⌘V (Ctrl on a PC)
    • The copy stays ready until you clear it from its banner
    • On a day that already has the block, choose Combine Exercises or Replace Existing
Four blocks on days 2, 3 and 5 are copied and pasted on day 16. They land on days 16, 17 and 19, with the same spacing.
  • Bring in a template

Save a day or a selection as a template from the right-click menu. Insert Template brings it back on any date, for one athlete or a group.

    • Search templates by name or description
    • An outline shows where each block lands before you place it
    • Build templates from scratch on their own page
Five blocks across four days are saved as a template called Game Week. Then the template’s outline slides along the calendar and is placed on days 17 to 20.
  • Rename the categories for your sport

Start from Prep, Drills, Lifting and Other, then make them yours. In Settings, the head coach names each category and picks its color for the whole staff.

    • Four to start, two more to name, and two we can switch on
    • Pick from 11 colors
    • Shift-click blocks of one category to name them as a phase, like Triphasic
In Programming Categories, Drills is renamed Speed and turned cyan. Then on the calendar, Speed is in the day’s add menu, and cyan Speed blocks are added.

Write every set your way

Click a block, and the exercise panel opens beside your calendar. Everything about a set is written there, from a percentage to a ball color.

Percent of max

Type a percentage once. Each athlete sees a weight from their own max, rounded up to the next 5 lbs.

Bench Press at 85% of max. Tyler B. gets 195 pounds, Maya O. 100 and Andre C. 235, each from their own max.

Per-set percentages

Turn on Progressive Overload to give every set its own percentage and reps.

A Back Squat set by set for one athlete: 70% for 5 at 195 pounds, 75% for 5 at 210, 80% for 3 at 220 and 85% for 3 at 235.

Supersets

Shift+click exercises, then right-click to group them. Athletes see A1 and A2.

Bench Press and Barbell Row are selected and grouped. They become A1 and A2 in Superset A.

Your own loads

Add loads of your own, as a number with your unit or a dropdown, like plyo ball colors.

A new dropdown load called Plyo Balls gets four colors. Then Rocker Drill uses it, with Red picked for a set.

Also in the exercise panel

Your exercise library
Search your library by name, or add a new exercise with its YouTube link and Save to Library, right from the search.
Coach notes
Add Coach Notes puts a cue on any exercise, and athletes read it with their sets.
Athlete max
Per-set percentages for one athlete with no max on file? Set the max right in the panel, and the weights fill in.

Every athlete on their own numbers

Write one program for a team, a position group or the whole roster. Each athlete gets their own copy, with weights from their own maxes.

  • Injury flags you can’t miss

Flag an injured athlete and add a note. The flag shows on the roster, in the builder and when you pick a group, so you can plan around it.

    • A flag and a note on the athlete
    • A warning when a group you pick includes them
    • Nothing changes on its own: you decide what to adjust
Marcus W.’s athlete card: the Injured switch turns on and the note Right shoulder soreness is typed in. Then the program builder shows Marcus W. with a red Injured mark and the note.
Pick by name or by group
Choose athletes by name, or by group and sub-group, like Football, then Linemen.
Each athlete keeps their own copy
Change one athlete’s program, and the rest stay as they are.
Maxes on file
Weights come from each athlete’s own max. A group link can ask for maxes at sign-up.

Deliver it, then see every set

Edits stay a draft until you press Deliver. Then each athlete gets the session with their own weights, and you can see every set they log, day by day.

On the athlete’s phone

  • Today’s session on Home, every weight from their own max
  • Check off a set with one tap, or tap a number to change it first
  • Watch Video opens the exercise’s video under its sets
  • Log more than their max, and it becomes their new max, marked PR
  • No signal? The iPhone app holds each logged set and sends it later
Tyler’s phone shows today’s Lifting block: Back Squat, 5 sets of 3 at 230 pounds, with all five sets checked off. He did 235 on set 4 and 2 reps on set 5.

Back on your calendar

  • Athletes see a change only once you press Deliver
  • Discard Draft takes back your edits to the days ahead
  • With one athlete open, the eye on today or a past day opens Review
  • Each set as you wrote it, beside what they logged
  • Above the plan in your highlight color, below it in amber
The coach’s review of Tyler’s Monday session. Each set shows what was prescribed next to what he logged. Set 4 is above the plan in green, and set 5 is below it in amber.

Messages and your own colors

Message the athletes you coach one to one, and make the app look like your program.

Messages

Chat one to one with photos, video and voice memos. In the apps, only a coach can start a chat.

A chat between a coach and Marcus W. He sends a side view video from last night’s game and a voice memo, and the coach answers with what to work on.

Your colors

Pick one of 8 themes, or set all seven colors yourself. Athletes train in your colors too.

A small Coach Reps screen repaints in each theme: Coach Reps, Midnight Gold, Deep Ocean, Forest and Ember.
Message alerts on iPhone
Athletes and coaches get an iPhone notification when a new message comes in.
Message from anywhere
Coaches reply from the web dashboard or from the iPhone app.
